ABC member John King from Toledo Ohio told his story to ABC Indiana members at the 2012 Indiana State Board inaugural event at the ABC Indiana headquarters.

His story of being shot by a vandal at his home made national news. John, an electrical contractor for 40 years, has been the largest non union electrical contractor in the Toledo area. He has faced an array of intimidation tactics and violence over the years for just trying to run a business according to his Merit Shop view. The word SCAB was etched into the paint of his vehicle parked in his home driveway. As he was stirred to the commotion outside his home, the vandal shot John.

The FBI is continuing the investigation into this incident. ABC of Indiana has helped with funding a sizable reward for information and apprehension of the vandal.
