“Best of the Best” at ABC of Indiana’s 26th Annual State Craft Championships

On February 10th, 2012 Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana held its 26th annual State Craft Championships. The competition consisted of a written exam as well as a hands-on practical project which is completed and judged on site. There were 34 competitors from across the state, these apprentices competed in electrical, HVAC, carpentry & plumbing.

The winners of the State competition were:
Carpentry: Brandon Smith - Brandt Construction, Inc.
HVAC: Scott Thomas - Swift Air Mechanical
Plumbing : Peter Parish - United Mechanical Contractors
Electrical : Bradley Boyd – Brand Electric, Inc.

As first place winners, they received an ABC Carhart jacket, a $100 gift certificate from Lowes, & a trophy. They will also all receive an all-expense paid trip to San Antonio, Texas in April to compete for Indiana at the Associated Builders & Contractors National Craft Champion.

Associated Builders & Contractors of Indiana is a nonprofit, national trade association of general contractors, subcontractors, and associates who believe in the merit shop form of construction. Indiana ABC makes available to its members the educational tools they need to train both their management team and field personnel.
