Do I get college credit?
In 2003 Associated Builders and Contractors formed a partnership with Vincennes University. Vincennes University agreed to grant college credit for the apprenticeship training that ABC was offering. This includes 20 credit hours in the Major Program Requirements, 28 credit hours in the Specialty Core Courses and 6 credit hours in Math. Along with the articulated credit, VU agreed to offer, at the ABC sites throughout the state, 17 credit hours in general education courses. The first of these began to be offered in fall 2004.
Every apprentice is required to participate in the VU program. At the end of the four year apprenticeship training, students0 will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technology Apprenticeship within the specialty.
This program is also open to graduates of ABC.
